Background
I'm a developer and designer based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. I've spent years working in software and digital design, and GitFoundry is my studio for applying that experience to the local businesses and independent professionals who need it most. I've built sites for businesses across multiple sectors — from physiotherapy practices and legal professionals to tradespeople and creative studios — and every one is still live, still fast, and still costing its owner nothing to host.
GitFoundry grew out of a straightforward frustration. Everywhere I looked, the same pattern: shops, trades, consultants, charities — paying Squarespace, Wix, or Webflow every month, often for years, for a website they'd never actually own. Local businesses have enough fixed costs. Their website shouldn't be another one.
Why this
There's no shortage of ways to build a website. Squarespace, Wix, Webflow — they all work. But they all charge you monthly, they all hold your assets, and they all reserve the right to change pricing, alter features, or suspend your account.
What I offer is the alternative. A site designed from scratch for your business, hosted free on GitHub Pages, and handed over to you in full. You own every file. No platform can abandon you. I start with a short brief, then design and build your site from scratch. No generic themes. No drag-and-drop builders with branded footers. Just a site that reflects what your business actually does, built to load fast on any connection — the slow mobile signal in a rural shop, the laptop in the café, the phone on the train.
The handover
Full source code, not just a live URL
You receive the complete repository — every file, every commit. You can take it to another developer, edit it yourself, or simply leave it running on GitHub Pages indefinitely. There is no ongoing dependency on me. That's the point.
The relationship
You deal directly with me — the person designing and building your site
